6. Thecurrencycommission.com sounds like just another foreign exchange site, but it does something quite clever. Ever dug out a fistful of foreign currency only to find it’s Francs/Lire or some other redundant note? This site allows you to exchange those old currencies for cold cash in Euros, Canadian or US dollars.
You have to sign a document and send it back with the currency, so it's cumbersome, but you can avoid having to queue at the bank and there’s no fee - you’re just at the mercy of the site’s exchange rates.
